I had my machine for 18 months, and initially was pleased- it cuts to the edge of the patio and doesn't spray grass all over it -like my old hover flymo. Weak points include; the folding handle pivots which in use have shed their protective coating, the cable - which is stiff and tangles - presumably contains some steel (cheaper than copper) - certainly inferior to the Flymo style more flexible stuff.
Now the flimsy switch has failed, so it is unuseable. I note that the better models in the Rotak range have a full handle bar switch - so this implies there is a problem with the single handed one on this model.
To sum up some nice design features but some cheap components let it down. It certainly needs to be more robust and last for more than 18 months of normal weekly use. Suggest you steer clear if you expect more.

I don't normally post reviews but after my petrol mower died respectably of extreme old age I had to use a Flymo, or dragmo, which took forever and just left a scruffy mess of the lawn with grass cuttings all over the flower beds and paths. Based on the reviews here I ordered the Bosch on Sunday, it arrived today, and assembled very easily. Straight into the garden with it and I am delighted. It does cut to the edge, it cuts very neatly and is light and easy to handle. It picks up all the grass and just left me disappointed when I ran out of grass to cut! Roll on next week!

Bought this lawnmower last week. Motor is very powerful, cuts long wet grass without to much trouble. Even has a small roller on the back to give striped effect!
Only complaint is that the grass box / flap did not fit correctly. Called Bosch who are going to replace the part free of charge. Apparently this is has happened on quite a few these models. Otherwise an excellent product.

I had had a Flymo for 3 years and was fed up with the poor quality of cut, the difficulty of handling it especially on slopes, the difficulty of carrying it through the garage to the front and that a good portion of the grass didn't find its way into the box but was re-distributed over the garden. So I bought a Bosch Rotak 36 from Amazon. It arrived on the morning promised and was easy to assemble (including the grass box). It is light and has a convenient carrying handle. It is easy to use. The biggest benefit is the quality of the cut. My lawns look professional for the first time in years and it does cut right to the edge as promised. Wonderful. The only disadvantage is that I have to make more trips to the compost heap with the cuttings as it cuts and collects far more than the Flymo ever did... Fully recommended.

This is a great mower i had a flymo before (no grassbox collector) which was the main reason to get a new mower.Spoke to a few people about this model and i have to say i am very pleased with it.It cuts great, a good selection of height adjustments (7 in all) and even has a roller for lines.This mower also cuts right to the edge almost elimanating the need for a strimmer (but not quite).So in all a great all rounder ,light,easy to assemble,easy to use,cuts great and leaves the lawn looking like a pro has done it.
