The fact alone that the lean beautiful body body on the front of all the videos belongs to Callan - 47 at the time - should make you hit the One Click button right now.
This is quite simply the best programme for changing your body shape. I use Jenny Rivett (with Lorraine Kelly - Figure Happy) for my aerobics, and Callanetics three times a week to tone. I thought I was born with a big bum. I wasn't. Within ten days of using this video it had completely changed shape. My waist was tiny - the best EVER excercise for the waist and legs I have found, you can almost see them whittle down before your eyes, and so easy, no sweating and no pain!
My only negatives are this...the tinkly light music will send you to sleep, and gets incredibly irritating after a while. So after you master the exercises and have listened to Callan a few times to get the moves exactly right, turn the volume down, watch the counter and listen to your own music.
Secondly..its a video. When will it come out on DVD??
This is a timeless exercise video (if you ignore the makeup and hair) and it seriously will change your body.

I absolutely adore Callanetics! It really does give you those fast results promissed, BUT personally I find the "10 years younger in 10 days" to slow paced and boring. It seems to me as if the toning session is over too soon and that the emphasis of the program is more on stretching. I also find the instructions insuficient. The video itself shows it's age in set up and overall production.
Insted I would recommend the "Quick Callanetics" series which is produced a few years later. There are only 3 participants beside ms Pinckney and the pace of the workouts as well as the instructions are very good. It is still the same workout, now divided into 3 seperate 20 minut programs; stomach, legs and hips & behind. This allows you to put together your own program, whether it is to save time or to focus on your problem area, while still remaining true to the core principles of Callanetics.

I am a fairly active 42 yr. old woman. It seems whatever I do, I can't seem to firm up the jiggly in my legs and booty with the plethra of excercise dvd's I own.. SO I pulled out this video I bought last year.. and decided to give it a try. I can't believe that I am already feeling a difference in the way my clothes hang on me! I am dedicating myself to this video, and have already ordered Super Callanetics for more of a workout. I am striving to achieve a dancers body, since I have taken up ballroom dancing. I can't wait to see the difference in 2-3 months. I have committed myself to doing this at least 4x a week, along with dancing and cardio (Jumping rope). I think I have found what I have been searching for! (I just wonder why Callan hasn't figured out that we need an updated version! Until then, I can withstand the 'time warp' that I enter everytime I pop her video in.) Yes.. and why the heck hasn't she been on Oprah! This could really change some lives!! I give this video a 5, just because I think it's tops! I'm also getting the book for a good reference as well. THis is a difficult workout, but like she says.. it's targeted in the sweet spot, not painful, but not easy. I think that's why it works!!

Yes it truly is amazing how quickly these exercises work. I did these exercises years ago and started again this year after a neck injury.(I have been off work for 18 months in a really bad way!)Anyway I have been doing these exercises, at first very gently, for the last 6 weeks. I look and feel so much better. Even my consultant wanted to know what I'd been up to make me look so good! My daughter's also do "the tape" and are in total agreement with me.....it really does tighten and lift...but also gets the spine working, with added flexibility and a general lightness to the body! I would urge anybody to try these brilliant exercises. Be patient it does take a little time to master "Tighten and tilt" but it really is worth it!

I've come back to Callanetics after years away, and it is as good as it ever was. If you stick to it, you get everything that is promised - truly. My best body ever was following only a month (granted was doing it 4-5 hours a week) and was for a holiday, I dug out the pictures the other day and it inspired me to dig out my video! 2 days into it and already I can see and feel the difference. It makes your muscles sing not hurt and that's VERY pleasing! Good for any age, particularly those who find high impact stuff tricky. I can't recommend it highly enough. With this and the GL diet I'll shed the rest of my 6 stone (4 lost on Nigel Denby's GL diet already, 2 to go) in no time at all!! and keep it off!! x
