This item does what it says- keeps warm through the night. However, it is the same size and shape as a discus, and it is hard. Cosequently, even with its cover on, it is not really comfortable for the animal to sleep on. I have experimented and found that surrounding the snuglesafe with small, soft items makes a nice bed. This product is fab. Stays warm through the night. I bought one for our new puppy and she seems to like it, am now looking to buy a second for me! I have used it as a hot water bottle in bed a few times and it is still warm in the morning. Very easy to use, has the advantage that it doesn't get overly hot initially, unlike a hot water bottle. Ideal for pet or human use.

It's a great heating pad, I would strongly recommend it. It really stays warm for up to 7 hours.
