The problem with Hard drives is that their not all 100% reliable yet. You'd be an idiot to back up very important data only on one hard drive as there is always the possibility of failing. That's why I feel it's unfair to judge solely on the 1 star reviews of people who've lost all the data because they've stupidly put all their valuable data only on this hard drive. Rating: - Worked very well and easily !!
Not being very computer literate, I made this first purchase of an external drive with some trepidation.

However it worked like a dream straight out of the box. Plugged it in the USB slot,switched power on and my Vista SP1 laptop recognised it immediately.

I've used this HDD for over a year and I use it like a normal HDD always connected to my PC. I use my PC everyday too. Its never had a problem, its really quiet, it fits snug, easy to set up and it has a perfect amount of storage space.

I'm so happy with it, my next purchase will be a bigger capacity WB Book.

had my hard drive for over a year now and had no problems at all use mine for extra storage so it never leaves my house for travelling i would reccomend the passport or elements versions my brother uses both and they are tougher and smaller but if you want one that looks nice and works well this is worth it plus its one of the cheapest 500gb hardrives available.

I purchased this product just over a year ago, and it has completely packed in (of course outwith the warranty period). I mainly used it to have a back up of photos, but they are all gone now.
Please read the other warnings and think twice before buying.
