Unlike the other reviewer, my new Philips iron has made a great start and, at the moment is functioning really well. It appears to have all the functions I need: not too heavy, swivel cord, comfortable handle (especially for arthritis sufferers), smooth base plate, clearly visible water tank and is easily controllable. I bought a Philips Mistral 2200 series iron about a year ago. Sadly I'm about to trade it in - and I won't be buying another Philips. The iron has a nice stainless steel soleplate, which is smooth and easy to clean. It is reasonably ergonomic, and not too heavy, even when filled with water. It's not particularly easy to fill with water as you have to tilt the iron at just the right angle or the cover flips shut, but the filling hole is big enough that it fills cleanly once you've got the hang ...
