This was the first LB I ever read, and I was completely hooked from the beginning. I used to love reading Jilly Cooper and Jackie Collins, and found this book to be reminiscent of these authors. Having since read practically all her titles, I still think that this was one was the best for me, although this could've been due to the fact that it was my first Louise love! The plot is clever, the characters believeable and likeable, and I love her attention to detail in describing the characters clothes ...

I bought this to read on holiday, as 600 pages should last me a week. It's now day 3, and I've finished it!
I haven't read a book by this author before, so can't judge it against any others she's written, but all the twists, turns and sordid behaviour in this novel had me gripped, and I couldn't put it down!

for someone who has never read louise bagshaw's books before they'd proabably be shocked by the number of 1 stars this book has recieved. This book is good, its ok but it is in no way in league with any books that the author wrote earlier. Not because they were full of you-know-what but because of the heroine- strong, beautiful, ambitious and most importantly determained. They worked orm scatch to reach their potential and a antastic storyline was produced. Her recent books lack this the heroine's weak, the storylines ...

It felt like I had read this book many times before - powerful family endures crisis after crisis - strong women, lazy men who come good at the end and spurned lovers.
The book is very forgettable but a good way to pass the time.
I did enjoy reading it but it was a bit of a "guilty secret". I think that much of the enjoyment about reading a book is talking about it to other people and I didn't want to tell anyone I was reading this one as it cannot be described as having any particularly good qualities at all. ...

Having read many of LB's previous books I was quite excited to start Sparkles on holiday - however, I was soon to be disappointed. The book rambles on and on without anything really happening. The whole tale could have been told in half the pages. I didn't like the story suddenly changing to Russia with no reason, that part went on and on finally coming to some kind of (very unbelievable and odd) conclusion at the end. I did like some of the characters, Judy was really good at being bad! You wanted to slap the son all the ...
