Everytime I read one of Connie Brockway's books, she transports me to a new world, and this time she took me into a story set in Scotland, one of my favorite places. Talk about romance! This is the first of a trilogy, and I can't wait to read the others. Oh, and the villain is so great, he made me writhe and laugh at the same time.

A wonderful start to what promises to be a genre- stretching series. The Merrick family is multi-dimensional, fascinating and quirky.

Brockway as ususal lives up to her reputation as a writer who knows what her readers want; books with involved characters, intense passion boardering on obsession, heart ache and redemption. I devor anything she writes, and I can't wait for "Fia, the Ravishing One". Bravo, Ms. Brockway!

Convoluted yarn in which unpleasant people are beastly to one another in Scotland for no very convincing reasons.
