A lovely read, if you are willing to suspend a little credibility. I have read many books in this genre both fact and fiction and know that the research must have been considerable and also the French used is CORRECT and idiomatic, which makes a refreshing change!
In fact, women WERE sent into France from here during World War 2 and excellent agents they made.
The ending was rather weak and could have been a little longer with a little more explanation - you have to read the epitaph ... Read More

I enjoyed this book. It tells a good story and I did want to continue reading it even when i got to the end of my journey to work. But to maintain that level of interest I had to suspend belief. I don't know if English women were empoyed undercover to work with the French resistance during the Second World War, but if they did, I am sure they didn't fall in love with German officers.
